Garden Centre Reviews
This is a totally independent GardenAction opinion of Dobbies Garden Centre in Shepton Mallet. Click any picture to enlarge it.
The outdoor plant area is about 25% covered with the remainder open. It
narrowly escapes being a boring modern layout because of the incorporation of free
standing islands. Other than that the layout is uninspiring.
The paths are wide though, wide enough to allow unhampered wheelchair access.
You'll find all your normal varieties of plants here and they all look to be in excellent condition. The overhead signs are large and helpful and the smaller individual plant information is good.
All the plants come with Dobbies excellent five year hardy plant guarantee so you are assured of quality plants.
This branch of Dobbies doesn't appear to specialise in any particular types of plants
but there was a good range of fruit trees available for sale at the time we visited.
The small plant information centre is situated centrally in the outside plants area. It stocked a good range of reference materials to help you select the correct plants for most conditions.
