|
| Another of the modern Dobbies garden centres which was first opened
in 2007. Regulated and straight paths make the plants area uninteresting. Lots of
gift and shopping area. |
This is a totally independent GardenAction opinion of Dobbies Garden Centre
in Dunfermline, Scotland.
DOBBIES DUNFERMLINE GARDEN CENTRE - THE PLANTS AREA
 |
In common with many of the modern Dobbies garden centres, the outdoor
plants area lacks any design effort. It is simply a set plant bays separated by wide
paths. No attempt to make it interesting at all. The plants themselves are in good
condition and well-watered, hardy plants have a five year guarantee. Signs are
reasonably good allowing you to locate specific plants easily. Plants are in alphabetic
sequence within type. |
 |
A good proportion, about 35% of he outdoor area, is covered from rain.
Dobbies make a big thing of their "Greenhouse attraction". An impressive building it
surely is but in reality it is just an information centre. |
 |
During our visit we saw no-one go inside the "Greenhouse" so we doubt its usefulness as a
display attraction. It is unmanned.
