Phlox

Phlox are easily grown, colourful herbaceous perennials grown for their prolific, dense rounded heads of sweet smelling flowers.  They grow to between 60cm and 120 cm in height, flowers are pink, purple or red, appearing in mid to late summer and continuing into autumn.  The leaves are narrow and a glossy green.  It is very hardy and easy to grow.  Again, attractive to bees and butterflies, it is a ‘standard’ of the herbaceous border, usually bringing up the rear.
