The premier gardening information source
The Orchid cafe surprisingly had four separate seating areas. The indoor area was split into two,
the main area and a more comfortable one with sofas. There was also a covered area (see right) and
an outdoor area (see picture below.
The cafe is primarily intended as coffee / tea shop. They do serve hot paninis
but not much other hot food. There was a range of sandwiches, cakes and snacks as
well as a selection of coffees, teas and other drinks. The cafe itself was mainly
basic, with principally plastic seats. It was clean and functional. The best seating
area was outdoors with large chunky bench seating giving the appearance of being in
a park. HOUSE PLANTS / AQUATICS
There was a reasonable range of houseplants for sale, all being in
good condition. Prices were about average. The display was attractive. INDOOR SALES AREA
The extensive indoor sales area stocked a variety of goods including, gifts, cards,
book, furniture, clothes and lots more. It was pleasantly laid out and easy to
navigate. The full range of garden accessories was also available.
OTHER FACILITIES
Several other speciality sales are were dotted around. The kids
playhouse and trampolines was especially good. If water features are on your buying
list then Frosts have a good selection at their Frilford branch.
Outside the garden centre, there are large areas of grass for picnics. There
were a few picnic tables also available. Also on the same site is Millets Farm Shop. This includes an almost
supermarket sized shop of fresh and speciality food (the cheeses are excellent). They have
kids play area, a restaurant with superb outdoor seating. The also have an extensive "pick
your own" area, a maize in summer holidays and other attractions. Combine this with a trip
round the garden centre and you have a day out. Their web site is
here. DISABLED FACILITIES TOILETS CAR PARKING The address is: Our sat nav delivered us about a mile away from Frosts garden centre. But
they are well signposted (Millets Farm) from all the major surrounding roads. A map can be found
HERE. The cafe was really only for coffee, tea and cakes and snack type meals. It
was basic, but the outdoor seating area was very pleasant. COMMENTS

THE ORCHID CAFE AT FROSTS GARDEN CENTRE
The aquatics department stocked a reasonable range of fish and accessories.
Access around the indoor and outdoor sales area was excellent for wheelchair users. the
paths were flat and adequately wide in most places.
Basic but functional and reasonably clean. There were gents, ladies and toilets for the
disabled.
Lots and lots of car parking, some spots even had shade if the weather was warm. The car
park was near the garden centre and on flat well-drained surfaces.DIRECTIONS AND CONTACT FOR FROSTS GARDEN CENTRE, FRILFORD

SUMMARY
An excellent garden centre, interesting enough for the whole family. The range of plants
was extensive and extremely attractively well-laid out. The indoor shopping area was good
