The premier gardening information source
The Dalgety Bay branch of Dobbies garden centres
is a modest affair compared to some of their recent mega-stores.
We visited to see if it served the local community well.

The plants area is an average size for a
medium-sized garden centre. The layout was a rather uninspiring
criss-cross of paths. They were large enough to allow access for the
disabled and relatively uncluttered save for the odd hosepipe here
and there. Overhead signs were completely lacking but in the
relatively small area at this garden centre it did not pose too much
of a problem
The plants were logically grouped and in most cases
arranged in alphabetic order. Dobbies Dalgety Bay had their standard five year
hardy plant guarantee prominently displayed in the outdoor area.
This reflects their confidence in the quality of their plants.
Indeed, all the plants on display looked well-watered and healthy.
There was no outdoor help centre but the staff were knowledgeable
and helpful when questioned. PRICES

The prices at Dobbies Dalgety Bay were about average for a garden centre in this area of the
UK. The multipurpose compost however was a bit more expensive than most
and we didn't spot any special offer for buying three at a go.
