Dobbies Garden Centre, Cirencester

(page 2)

HOUSE PLANTS
Pleasingly, the range of house plants on offer was larger than the majority of garden centres we have recently visited. They were attractively laid out and the plants were of good quality with average prices.

INDOOR SALES AREA
Idoors sales are at Dobbies, Cirencester Inside Dobbies at Cirencester, the sales area is large, clean and pleasantly laid out. Too much like a department store for our liking but that is a personal opinion.

It boasts a food hall with an excellent organic butchers and a large cheese counter. In addition, it had all the other normal store areas - cards, gifts, clothes, garden furniture etc.

AQUATICS / PETS CENTRE
There was a medium sized aquatics centre stocking a reasonable range of fish and aquatics accessories. There was also a pet centre with all the normal range of feeds and accessories although we saw no pets for sale/

CAFE AT DOBBIES GARDEN CENTRE
Cafe at Dobbies, Cirencester The cafe area at this Dobbies was very large with lots of seating area. It was well laid out and clean. The food on offer was light lunches and snacks. The light lunches ranged from about £3 to £6.50 and included baguettes, salads, hot potatoes and the like. Coffee, tea and cakes were also sold. The food quality was average, not our first port of call for a lunch.

DISABLED FACILITIES
If you use a wheelchair then Dobbies will cater for you well. The paths are wide and uncluttered with wheelchairs available for no cost at the entrance.

TOILETS
Toilets were in keeping with the rest of the store, clean, functional and with no queues.

CAR PARKING
The car park was large with sufficient spaces. It was flat, dry and had a hard surface.

SUMMARY
Dobbies at Cirencester was similar to many other large, modern garden centres. It provided a good range of plants outside and a good range of goods inside. The cafe looks good and is pleasantly arranged with a large amount of space.

For a garden centre, however, it is impersonal and the staff are not particularly approachable. The five year guarantee on hardy plants is to be applauded though.
