The premier gardening information source
This is a totally independent GardenAction opinion of
the Charlecote Plant and Shrub Centre in Charlecote, Coventry. This has been run as a family business for the past 26
years. It is opposite The National Trust
Charlecote Park site and a few metres down the road is another
garden centre. In nearby Wellesbourne is a restored
water mill
which is well worth a visit. The water mill has a tearoom which serves
delicious cakes tea and coffee. PLANTS
This is a "wander round" plant centre. With few signs to direct
you to specific plants a leisurely approach is needed. But on a
sunny day, the attractive layout makes wandering round a pleasure.
The entire sales area is outdoors so rainy day visits are not a
good idea. There is a large range of plants for sale at this garden centre and
the emphasis is on herbaceous plants. Around half the plants are grown
at the nursery with the rest being bought in. When bedding plants are in
season then you can be assured of a wide range of attractive healthy
plants. The prices are good value, for example roses are priced from 6.
Seasonal vegetables and fruit are on sale as plants and for eating at
many times of the year. DIRECTIONS AND CONTACT A map can be found
here. Note that although this plant centre has a Coventry post
code (CV35) it is nearer to Stratford on Avon and Warwick. The garden
centre has restricted opening hours in winter so check if visiting
between November and mid-February. CONTACT SUMMARY COMMENTS

A great garden centre to wander round, but only plants are for sale.
Attractively laid out with helpful staff. We recommend a visit if you
are in the area.
