Symptoms Cause and Cure It's a good idea to examine the seeds
at planting time and reject any which are marked, wrinkled or
unusually shaped. There is no cure for Halo Blight, dig up and destroy the plants.
Slugs find all parts of French Beans delicious -
the roots, stems, leaves and of course the pods. Dwarf varieties
are the most affected because their foliage and crops are nearer
the ground. Climbing French beans are less affected with only
the lower leaves being eaten.
Click here for an in depth look at how to deal with slugs. Planting Marigolds really does attract beneficial insects such
as ladybirds and hoverflies - these love to eat
blackfly. Spraying the plants with water also works - it simply
knocks the blackfly off the plant.

Message: In my farm, the leaves get scotched at the leaf margin and then the entire leaf dies. After a day or two the entire plant dies. I suspect a soil borne pathogen. The entire proces is like a die-back. What can I do? Joseph
