			 The
Greenapple cafe serves a large range of food, both snacks and main meals. Hot potatoes, toasties
and paninis cost from 4 to 5 depending on the filling. Salads cost 4.50 (small) or 6.95
(large). Coffee, tea and cakes were all good.
The food is average to good but nothing to make it stand out from other cafes. There were no
		queues when we visited.
The cafe has three separate seating areas. One indoors, one in a
covered patio area and one outdoors (see picture on right). The decor is modern
but rather uninspiring. All areas are clean and the service is pleasant and helpful. We would some up the cafe as serving decent food at reasonable prices. The
eating area was clean and functional but rather boring. HOUSE PLANTS

This is not the garden centre to
visit for indoor plants. AQUATICS AND PETS

Dobbies, Birtley have a medium sized aquatics centre with a small range of fish on
offer. There was a good selection of feeds and accessories but a very limited
selection of tanks and specialist equipment. INDOOR SALES AREA

Given the overall size of this garden centre a comparatively large
area is given over to gifts, cards, books and similar items. There is an very large
area devoted to "Double Two", selling a large variety of clothes.
Barbecues and indoor / outdoor furniture are displayed attractively and the range is
excellent. DISABLED FACILITIES TOILETS CAR PARKING The address is: Our sat nav failed to get us to Dobbies Garden Centre at Birtley using the
postcode. We ended up about five minutes drive away. Strangely, the post code on the Dobbies
site differs to that on Google. We then tried "Drum Road" and still couldn't find Dobbies. We eventually
asked a passer by. We would suggest that you follow the directions given on the Dobbies page
for their Birtley garden centre. A map can be found

		GREENAPPLE CAFE AT DOBBIES BIRTLEY

There was a small to medium selection of houseplants for sale. The range was
limited and the plants were displayed in an uninspiring manner. Quality was
excellent and the prices were about average.
Most indoor and outdoor areas are accessible by wheelchair and the surfaces are flat.
Wheelchairs are available on request with no charge.
Ladies, gents, disabled toilets and toddler changing facilities are all clean, modern and
		functional.
There is more than sufficient parking at this garden centre. The surfaces are dry and
flat.DIRECTIONS AND CONTACT FOR DOBBIES BIRTLEY

        SUMMARY
A modern medium to large sized garden centre. More emphasis on the indoor sales area
compared to the plants area. The cafe serves good food but it does not stand out from the
		crowd.
